Falmouth

I spent this year completing my art and design foundation diploma at Falmouth university and it was honestly such an amazing year. Falmouth is really something else- apart from the stormy winter. Everywhere is simply buzzing with creativity, but nothing really beats the beautiful scenery which I have spent many many hours exploring. If you're a student wanting to go to university it is a great place to consider even if the nightlife isn't too great.

I wish I wish I wish

Wishlist!

If you love Motel Rocks then you'll probably know about their new stuff...
70's is everywhere right now and I can't help but keep staring at the Motel website and their 'new in' section which is bursting with flower power.
As it's now autumn, I am becoming obsessed with reds and oranges and browns and all those leafy tones so I thought I'd share my wishlist here of all the things that have caught my eye.

Although I've found quite a few more revealing dresses, I don't think that should be an off-putting thing when its cold as if paired with a top underneath and some thick tights you can create a real staple outfit.

Another thing I love about autumn is that there are all sorts of colours available to mix and match- one of my favourite ways to pair colours is to contrast them e.g. these blue trousers with the orangey suede jacket below would really complement each other.

Here's a link to see more from my wishlist:

Ready for Some Autumn and Winter Wear-and-Tear

It's September again so for many it's the start of another academic year, which means back to school, college and university! I myself have just started my first year of uni which means I had to cram in getting any new things before leaving home. Living away from home for the first time also means that I want to feel as comfortable as possible and one thing that helps is being as prepared as possible.

One of the most challenging parts of my preparation was what shoes to pack to tide me over through the autumn and winter months, so I thought I'd share a in the hope that it might help other people. Overall I have brought about 4 different types of shoes with me: trainers (or anything else comfy and casual), boots, going out shoes and sandals (because I'm by the sea).

With me, I have 2 pairs of boots; my Dr. Martens and chelsea style booties from Zara.
They are great for the chilly months and go with lots of things so are easy to throw on for early lectures.

Comfy shoes include my Adidas Flux ZX trainers from Office

It's really important to look up dress codes for your course as anything that involves workshops will require suitable clothing and footwear.

As for going out shoes, keeping it simple seems to be the best bet with 1 pair of white heels (Amazon) and 1 pair of black (New Look). I am particularly fond of my white chunky platforms as they are simultaneously gorgeous and comfortable- I generally go for platforms over killer stilettos in the hope that my feet will survive the night. Plus they are more versatile so can also be worn in the day time.

(These are a tad dirty because they've had so much wear!)

Another style that I'm loving at the moment is lace-up platforms. Unfortunately I don't know the brand of this shoe but I've found a few similar and posted the links below.

I hope this is helpful, Love Fran x
